And while vets absolutely have their place, trusting them blindly—especially when they don’t understand the unique needs of Bulldogs—can lead to unnecessary treatments and expensive mistakes. Breed-specific care matters.

  • ​Eye ulcers? While some vets go straight to costly drops or surgery, I’ve seen incredible results using serum made from the dog’s own blood. It's natural, effective and commonly used by experienced Bulldog owners—yet rarely mentioned in general practice.​

  • Ear Hematomas? Instead of expensive procedures under sedation, I’ve treated them with medical-grade leeches—a method that reduces swelling and speeds up healing without the trauma of surgery. But again, few vets even consider it.

  • Interdigital cysts? Vets often prescribe antibiotics and steroid creams, but for Bulldogs, a simple routine of Epsom salt soaks followed by Ansol cream can be far more effective—and gentle on the dog and your wallet.
These are just a few examples of how general veterinary advice doesn’t always align with Bulldog reality. My aim is to help you feel confident in making informed decisions—with breed-specific care at the heart of it all.
